GTHC Predicts, Newcastle Away
Coming off a very surprising win, I just hope we can now kick on and get out of this drop zone situation, the mood has been lifted but lets not forget its only 1 win, and the last time we beat them was also during a bad run and we then lost 3 or was it 4 on the trot! As dog shit form resumed..........lets hope that part is not repeated.

Agree with Lawro and 1-1, COYI

It makes me laugh how there is still speculation over what the takeover at Newcastle would mean for Magpies boss Steve Bruce, even while his side are swatting other teams away.

Bruce was forever being compared unfavourably to his predecessor Rafael Benitez when he took over last summer. In the past couple of weeks, his side have scored eight goals in three league games to pick up seven points and make it completely certain that they are staying up, yet you still hear about how they would be better off with Mauricio Pochettino in charge.

It's ridiculous really. Meanwhile, Bruce still carries on getting results and proving what a good manager he is, especially in getting the best out of his players.

West Ham are finally up and running again too, and they will be full of confidence after their win over Chelsea - despite a big VAR decision going against them again.

Form-wise, Newcastle would still have to be favourites - but it doesn't always work out that way in the Premier League.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

I said we would win the other night although I didn't really have confidence in my prediction, so will do the same today. 1-2 with Andy Carroll making it a nervy last few minutes!

Re: GTHC Predicts, Newcastle Away
The dilemma is, do we justifiably stick with the starting eleven that saw off Chelsea, or do we accept we have three games in a week now and spread our bets?

We MUST start using the extra subs, and we MUST try and decide before we start (as far as you ever can) exactly who they will be and how they will be utilised. Much easier for a player to run his heart out if he knows he can come off at sixty minutes etc etc. I'd like to see us go all out to get in front as early as possible, as this helps with the game plan later in the game.

I'd start with Antonio, and maybe Haller initially for Lanzini, then have Silva on at HT for Antonio, and Yarmo on for Haller at 55/60 minutes or sooner... give them instructions to run the defenders around thoroughly; Silva in particular has pace to burn and should keep them busy down the back, which may stop them pouring forward onto a tired WHU midfield and defence. I'd like to see Silva and Bowen playing together, I have a feeling that could be quite potent.

Would be happy with a draw but no reason why we should not win this - provided we go for it!

Huddersfield and Shrewbury are the only teams that we've beaten properly back -to-back with Moyes in charge.

But he did win his last game in charge first time around, and his first in charge second time around, so that's another one, at a stretch.

Bruce is going through a purple patch. I don't expect it to last.

Although it might last long enough to end our winning run at one.

*slaps down thoughts of back-to-back wins*

A draw would be superb (relatively) against an in-form side Have we ever won two in a row under the winner Moyes? I wonder.

We're still relying on the shit form of others for a good while, I reckon. Will be hoping for Norwich * (v Brighton) and Man Utd (v Bournemouth) wins tomorrow.

* Assuming Norwich are now totally gone.

Point would be great here. As others have said, dealing with their pace will be an issue. Looks what happened against Wolves we couldn’t cope

Re: GTHC Predicts, Newcastle Away
They have two of the fastest wingers in the league in Almiron and Saint -Max, we need to double up on our full-backs out of possession with Bowen for Freds and Antonio for Cresswell, fornals too slow.

This if Haller is fit to start up front so we can move Antonio to the left side but close to him in attack and then close to Cresswell in defence.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Newcastle Away
We need to remember they have a fuck load of pace up front so you can’t chuck everyone up for a set piece and defend on the halfway line and then put a shit delivery in

We seemed to repeatedly forget that in the home game...

We'll lose 4-3 after being ahead at HT, with Andy Carroll scoring a hat-trick. Nailed on.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Newcastle Away
I'd take 1-1 now as it would be do West ham if us to follow up a great win with a disgusting performance like we usually do under Moyes. I think we're going to see the standard Moyes 2-0 loss.
